Love it!
•May 14, 2007 • Leave a CommentHey! What’s the big idea?
•May 13, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis week has been uber busy so Friday night was a nice night to wind-down. We all seem to love Ryan’s Bar and there were plenty of interesting people around to keep us busy! Alas one notable absence – Rob! We miss you buddy!
This weekend was nice and relaxing – Mother’s Day lunch and seeing ‘Because I Said So’ with Sarah (not the best, Dianne Keaton wears too many belts but I love Lorelai Gilmore!!) And then listening to MIKA’s new album! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
Weddings & Babies
•April 21, 2007 • Leave a CommentToday we had our monthly girly catch up with the old TW girls group. It was an even more exciting dinner at our spot – Wagamama’s in the Galleries Victoria because we were celebrating our girl Skye’s recent engagement! There was even more exciting news to come when Kim announced she was (finally!) having baby Tietgen!!
Skye and her squeeze Nick met at uni and fell in love (sigh!). They are just about the most adorable couple, both smarty pants and very down to earth! Nick proposed in Spain with a gorgeous diamond (as I said as sparkly as our girl!) I cannot wait for our next catch up so we can read Bridal maagzines and you know you get the taste-test the wedding cake! Congratulations Miss Skye! We love you!
After knowing Kim for 3 days on my first placement, she was feeling nauseous, so I suggested she might be pregnant. Alas she wasn’t, but it started an obsession which has endured the 3 long years of our friendship and copious amounts of (weekly) emails, phone calls and SMS’ to prompt Kim and her rock star hubby Steve to have little Tietgens. So finally when Kim popped the news she was about to pop I couldn’t contain my happiness. I can’t wait to play with little ‘Wolfgang’ as she/he is affectionately called and I bet I love her/him as much as I love Kim & Stevie T - Congrats you crazy kids! It’s about time!!!
Beyoncé Concert
•April 21, 2007 • 1 CommentAfter a long awaited few months, it was finally time for the Beyoncé concert at Acer Arena in Sydney. Chris Brown was the supporting act, and I have to admit that he was a pretty amazing dancer. What shocked me is that he is only 17 – it was at this point when we stopped “putting our single ladiez handz up in the air!”
Beyoncé was fabulous – she sang all her major songs and did a whole Destiny’s Child medley with all the great DC songs such as Say My Name, Survivor, Bug a Boo and No, No, No. It was an amazing concert and Beyoncé has such an amazing and varied vocal range (which she showed off!), plus her costumes were hot, she danced her booty off and she looked fab!
We absolutely loved it and it was a great girls night out! Videos from the night available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeHjpoRqtcE
Email Sign-Off
•April 13, 2007 • 3 CommentsToday I received an email with the sign-off as ‘Warm Regards.” It made me feel wildly uncomfortable and somewhat dirty. I don’t want your warm anything!
When is it appropriate to use Kind Regards, Warm Regards or just Regards. Why not ‘Pleasant Regards’ or ‘Spiteful Regards’?
This will continue to baffle me for my entire working career. At least it was a short week – HAPPY FRIDAY!
Happy Easter
•April 10, 2007 • Leave a CommentHow great was the long weekend? Friday night Jem and I headed to Maya in Surry Hills for a little vegetarian…food, not a person. And I have to say that it was pretty delish! I even had a chance to see Jem’s new place (haha I was the first one!) and thus have decided to name his gnome Danu (the garden gnome, not anything else).
Now Saturday was a pretty carnivorous night as we headed to the Hogs Breath Cafe in Cronulla – also very yummy. Then in between a few Church going activities and some family catch up time (watching Borat on the 50″ – niiiiiice).
Hope everyone had a great Easter – can’t wait till the next public holiday – ANZAC Day here we come!
Disturbing…

With only a few weeks until G and I head to the Beyonce concert, I thought this video was very fitting. Now I love Beyonce as much as any fan, but this is just nuts! This kid is very talented but all I keep hearing in my head is…SUPERSTAR!
Accounting 101
•March 31, 2007 • Leave a CommentSo along with the new job, I found out that I have an Accounting Fundamentals exam which is coming up in a few weeks. Because of the nature of work and perhaps in the future completing my CA (yeah like that’s going to happen), it is “advised” that I complete the exam. I thought uni was over and I guess I jinxed it when I said “YAY no more exams!” at the end of 2005.
In more interesting news: I bought Borat on DVD, I flew back from Melbourne for the last time on Friday, Jagerbombs are not a substitute for cold & flu medication and Anthony Callea has been OUTED – Niiiice!
We Gradumagated!
•March 21, 2007 • Leave a Comment
After a long 4 years, us BITs finally graduated from UNSW! I was so excited about graduation as it meant I could come home from Melbourne and spend the day with the gang once again.
The ceremony was not too long and it was broken up with some ”honey no’s”, excessivley loud clapping and trying to make Christine laugh on stage (it worked!). The Chancellor gave us some good tips about being an Alumni and the MD of ABC presented a long winded speech – something to do with the decimal currency system…or something like that. After about 90 people went up on stage, it was my turn, and being me…I walked off stage the wrong way, about faced and walked down the stairs – much to the embarrasment of my mum and to the laughs of about 200 guests. Hey – at least I didn’t stack it (if you were there, you would know what I mean).
After some photos we all headed to the IS Faculty for the BIT/ISM after-graduation function which was awesome. The funniest part was watching Nana Hango and Nana Hon falling asleep during a certain person’s speech (or shameless plug). After that we had a good chat and long good-bye to Christine (sob) and then off to lunch at the Spot in Randwick.
Congratulations to all the BITs and ISMs who graduated – I miss being at uni already!
Sleeping, Eating & Grey’s
•March 18, 2007 • Leave a CommentWho else feels like the weekends are way too short? Personally I am disliking this work 5 days, rest 2 business. After getting home exhausted on Friday night (after a delayed fllight and meeting radio host Jackie O) I managed to get in a few hours of sleep before training on Saturday morning.
The rest of the weekend (where does it go right?) was spent having a few great dinners with friends, catching up on some much needed Zzzz’s and tuning in to Grey’s Anatomy. Hands up for a 3 day weekend?
P.S Welcome back Rob!
